Please cite the complete Hadith:
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Last night a big ‘Ifrit from the jinns came to me and wanted to interrupt my Salah [or said something similar] but Allah enabled me to overpower him.”
Imams Bukhari and Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Last night a huge/powerful [‘Ifrit] Jinn came to me to interrupt my Salah but Allah enabled me to overpower him. I wanted to fasten him to one of the pillars of the Masjid so that all of you could see him in the morning but I remembered the statement of my brother Sulayman, ” My Rabb! Forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom the like of which will never be granted to anyone.” The narrator Rawh says, “He [the Jinn] was dismissed humiliated.”
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 461, 1210, 3423 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 541)
