What is the authenticity of this?

قيل للقعقاع الأوسي: قُلْ لنا شيئًا عن الجنة يشوّقنا إليها. قال: فيها رسول الله ﷺ

Answer

Despite this statement being widely quoted and circulated recently, I have not come across it in any primary or in any secondary source. Nor have I come across a biography of Qa’qa’ Al Awsi, the person to whom the narration is attributed to.

Translation

Qa’qa’ Al Awsi was asked, “Tell us something that will make us desirous of Jannah” He said, “Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) [will be] in it.”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
