Question

What is the source and authenticity of this narration?
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Bad deeds of 200 years [equivalent] are obliterated if a man recites 100 Durud (salutations) on Friday.”

Answer

I have not come across these exact words in a Hadith. ‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) and others have referenced a narration which mentions two hundred salutations and not one hundred.

The Hadith is as follows: “Whoever recites salutations (durud) two hundred (200) times on the day of Jumu’ah, his sins of two hundred (200) years will be forgiven.

(Al Qawlul Badi; pg. 395)

This narration, however, has been deemed unreliable. See here

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
