Question

I would like to ask regarding the authenticity of the following narration of Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu anhu):

“Clean your homes from the web of the spider because keeping it causes poverty”

 

Answer

Imam Tha’labi (rahimahullah) has recorded this statement of Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Tafsir Tha’labi, Surah ‘Ankabut, Verse: 41)

 

However, the chain consists of an extremely weak narrator.

(Refer: Mizanul I’tidal, vol. 2 pg. 456, number: 4405)
