What is the translation and authenticity of this Hadith?

ما مسست حريرًا ولا ديباجًا ألين من كف النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، ولا شممت ريحًا قطّ أو عرفًا قط أطيب من ريح أو عرف النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith. The Hadith is therefore authentic,

Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said: “I have not touched fine silk nor any silk brocade softer than the palm of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, nor have I smelt a fragrance more pleasing than the scent of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3561)
