Question

Kindly provide the reference and authenticity of the following narration:

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) has narrated that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

‘Whilst he, i.e., the last person to enter Jannah, is walking therein, he will suddenly see a light and fall in prostration. It will then be said to him: “What is the matter with you [i.e., why are you prostrating]?”

He will then reply: “Is this not my Rabb that has manifested before me?”

All of a sudden, a man will be standing before him, and he [i.e., that man] will say: “No, [rather] this is [simply] one of your many castles! And I am [merely] one of your many butlers/stewards of which there are a thousand [others] like me!”

Thereafter, he [i.e., the owner of all these possessions] will walk forward and enter the closest of his castles; he won’t look out from any of them [i.e., his castles] except that he will [be able to] see the furthest portion of his kingdom [spanning] the distance of a hundred years.’

Answer

Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sifatul Jannah of Abu Nu’aym, Hadith: 441)

All the narrators in the chain are credible.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
