Question
I want to know regarding the authenticity of a narration I read:
One of the wives Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was once unable to put on the lower garment [izar] for the Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). The garment would keep falling off due to the nur (celestial light) of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).
Answer
The Moroccan Hadith Scholar of the recent past, Shaykh ‘Abdullah Al Ghumari (rahimahullah) has declared this narration a fabrication.
(Murshidul Ha-ir Li Bayani Wad’i Hadhithi Jabir, pg. 29)
The Hadith should not be quoted.
