Question

Kindly translate and provide the reference for this Hadith:

مروا بالمعروف، وانهوا عن المنكر، قبل أن تدعوا فلا يستجاب لكم

 

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith. The Hadith is suitable to quote.

Sayyidah ‘Aishah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that she heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say: “Enjoin good and forbid evil before you supplicate [to Allah] and find no response.”

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 4004)
