Question

Is there a Hadith in which Ummu Waraqa lead both men and women in prayer?

I have heard that Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) appointed her to lead a group of men and women in prayer. The example of Ummu Waraqah is based on a hadith found to be solid, transmitted through Ibn Sa’d al-Baghdadi

Answer

The Hadith that is cited in your question appears in the following Hadith sources:

Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 592, 593
Tabaqat Ibn Sa’d, vol. 8, pg.457
and Sunan Daraqutni, Hadith: 1084.

None of the above sources mention Sayyidatuna Ummu Waraqah (radiyallahu ‘anha) leading men in the salah.

Rather, the version in last source quoted above; Sunan Daraqutni clearly states that she led the women of her household in the salah!

Furthermore, according to all the scholars of Islam (ijma’) a woman is not allowed to lead men in salah.
