Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah Al Khushani (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that the Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

‘The Jinn are of three types: a type that has wings and fly through the air; a type that look like snakes and dogs; and a type that stops for a rest then resumes its journey.”

The great reward for women if they are dutiful towards their husbands


Where can I find the following Hadith and how sound is it?

“Muslim ibn ‘Ubayd related from Asma bint Yazid Al Ansariyyah that she went to Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) while he was seated with his Companions. She said,

“I came as an emissary to you from a group of women. Indeed Allah has sent you to both men and women, and we believe in you. Indeed, we women are limited and constrained, though we are the pillars of your houses, from us do you fulfill your desires, and we also carry your children. Indeed, you men have been favoured over us by the congregational Friday prayer and by all other congregational prayers, by visiting the sick, by attending funeral prayers, by performing pilgrimage after pilgrimage, and better than all of that – Jihad in the way of Allah. When men go out to perform Hajj, Umrah, or Jihad, we protect for them their wealth, spin for them their garments, and raise for them their children. Shall we not share with you in this recompense and reward?”

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) turned to his Companions and said, “Have you ever heard any speech of a woman that is more beautiful than this woman’s questioning regarding the affairs of her religion?” They said, “O Rasulullah, we never thought that a woman should be guided to something like this.”

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) turned to her and said, “Understand this, O woman, and teach this to those women whom you left behind: For a woman to be a good spouse to her husband, for her to seek his pleasure, for her to follow and cooperate with him, is equal to all of that (i.e. all of the rewards that men get for their toils or for the deeds mentioned above).”

She left and was making Tahlil and Takbir (i.e. she was saying ‘La ilaha illallah’ and ‘Allahu Akbar’) out of rejoice.”

The effect of haram on our du’as


What is the authenticity of the following Hadith?

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“O people, indeed Allah Ta’ala is Pure and accepts only that which is pure. Allah Ta’ala has commanded the believers with the same command that He gave to the Ambiya (‘alayhimus salam). Allah Ta’ala has said: “O Messengers, consume that which is pure and wholesome and perform righteous actions. Indeed I am all aware with what you do.” Allah Ta’ala has mentioned: “O believers, consume from the pure and wholesome foods that We have provided for you.”

Thereafter, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) explained the condition of a person who had undertook a long, arduous journey. His hair was dishevelled and his clothing was covered in dust. He raised his hands to the sky crying in supplication saying, “O my Rabb, O my Rabb .” Whereas his food and drink intake are haram, his clothing is obtained from haram sources; his body is nourished with haram, so how can his du’as ever be answered?”

حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى ، أَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، ثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ ، فَقَدْ قَلَنْسُوَةً لَهُ يَوْمَ الْيَرْمُوكِ ، فَقَالَ : اطْلُبُوهَا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوهَا ، ثُمَّ طَلَبُوهَا فَوَجَدُوهَا ، وَإِذَا هِيَ قَلَنْسُوَةٌ خَلِقَةٌ ، فَقَالَ خَالِدٌ : ” اعْتَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَحَلَقَ رَأْسَهُ ، وَابْتَدَرَ النَّاسُ جَوَانِبَ شَعْرِهِ ، فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ إِلَى نَاصِيَتِهِ فَجَعَلْتُهَا فِي هَذِهِ الْقَلَنْسُوَةِ ، فَلَمْ أَشْهَدْ قِتَالا وَهِيَ مَعِي إِلا رُزِقْتُ النَّصْرَ

A Hadith warning women who do not pay zakat for their jewellery


A Hadith was read in our daily Ta’lim in our Masjid from Fadail Sadaqat (part 1, pg: 290, Hadith: 9) regarding a women wearing a gold necklace will have a similar necklace of fire on the day of Qiyamah.

A brother from an Arabic speaking background says he doubts this is correct. He doubts it can be in Abu Dawud. It is probably extremely weak he says and in his opinion it is fabricated.

He is self taught. He has read Bukhari and Muslim and his also learns via google. What have the Muhaddithun of early times said about this Hadith?
