Question

I remember hearing that if one recites the last 10 Verses of Surah Alu ‘Imran one gets the reward of ‘ibadah of the whole night.
Is this authentic and fine to quote?

Answer

The narration you are referring to is recorded by Imam Darimi with a weak chain. Despite its weakness, the narration is suitable to quote as is the rule with Hadiths of this nature. See the Hadith here.

The Hadith states: “Whoever recites the last Verses of Surah Alu ‘Imran at night will receive the reward of standing in worship for one night.”

(Sunan Darimi, Hadith: 3439)

Mulla ‘Ali Al Qari (rahimahullah) has written that this begins from Verse: 190 (إن في خلق السماوات والأرض) till the end of the Surah, which is actually the last 11 Verses.

(Mirqatul Mafatih, Hadith: 2171)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
