Kindly provide the reference for this statement:

Imam Shafi’i (rahimahullah) said: “None of you should be afraid of bankruptcy. I became bankrupt three times and then became wealthy.”

 

Answer

Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) has recorded this statement of Imam Shafi’i (rahimahullah).

Imam Shafi’i (rahimahullah) said: “Do not be disheartened by poverty. I faced bankruptcy three times, yet each time, I regained prosperity.”

(Manaqibush Shafi’i, vol. 2, pg. 169)
