Is this Hadith authentic?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Eating fruit in odd numbers will not be a cause of harm”

 

Answer

Imam Daylami (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma). However, ‘Allamah Suyuti (rahimahullah) has cited the Hadith in his book on fabricated Hadiths.

The Hadith should not be quoted.

Note: There are authentic Hadiths which state Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) ate an odd number of dates. See here.
