I would like to get a reference for the following Hadith regarding the speech of Jahannam when the believers are crossing the bridge (sirat) over it:
Jahannam will say to Believers on the Day of Qiyamah: “O Believer! Pass over me [quickly], for your light is extinguishing/cooling my flames.”
Imams Tabarani and Bayhaqi (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Ya’la ibn Munyah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 668, volume: 22, Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 369)
‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared a narrator weak. However, ‘Allamah Ibn Rajab Al Hambali (rahimahullah) has declared the text of the Hadith unreliable (غريب وفيه نكارة). ‘Allamah Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) has also deemed the Hadith very strange (غريب جدا).
(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 10 pg. 360, At Takhwif Minan Nar Wat Ta’rif Bi Hali Daril Bawar, vol. 4 pg. 360, part of Majmu’u Rasail of Hafiz Ibn Rajab, An Nihayah Fil Fitani Wal Malahim, vol. 2 pg. 101. Also see: Al Maqasidul Hasanah, Hadith: 344)
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
