Question

Is there a narration which states that the Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) would collect the hair of  Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) when he would have a haircut?

Answer

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded the following narration:

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says, “When the barber would cut Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)’s hair, the Sahabah would come around him so that his hair may fall into their hands”

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2325)

There are numerous other incidents too which show that the Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) would commonly use the blessed hair of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) as a means of barakah.
