Question
How authentic are these narrations
1) Sayyiduna Salman Al Farisi (radiyallahu ‘anhu) relates that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said:
“If a man is in a deserted land and the time of prayer arrives, thus he performs ablution [wudu] and if he does not find water he performs the dry ablution [Tayammum]. If he gives the Iqamah [and offers prayer], his two Angels offer prayer with him, and if he gives the Adhan and Iqamah, an army of Allah pray behind him, the two sides of which is not visible [due to it’s sheer number].”
2) Tawus (rahimahullah) says:
“When a man [who is alone] offers prayer with Iqamah, his two angels pray with him. And when he gives the Adhan and Iqamah, many Angels offer prayer with him.”
Answer
1. This is recorded by Imams ‘Abdur Razzaq, Tabarani and others (rahimahumullah).
(Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 1955 and Al-Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 6120)
My Honourable Teacher, Al-Muhaddith Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (hafizahullah) has stated that all the narrators are reliable.
(footnotes on Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 2291. Also see: Targhib, Hadith: 383 and Tadwirul Falak of Moulana ‘Abdul Hay Laknawi, pg.10-12)
2. This is recorded with a reliable chain in Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 1952. Also see: Tadwirul Falak of Moulana ‘Abdul Hay Laknawi, pg.10.
