Is the book ‘Manaqibul Imam Ahmad’ (The virtues of Imam Ahmad) by Imam Ibnul Jawzi authentic?

 

Answer

Ibnul Jawzi (rahimahullah) is a reliable Hambali Scholar. His book on the attributes of Imam Ahmad ibn Hambal is very popular and relied upon by the ‘Ulama.

The Muhaddithun are generally not so stringent when it comes to books of this nature.
