Question

Kindly provide the reference for the following:

“Leaving the world behind is difficult, but leaving Jannah is even more difficult. And indeed, the price of Jannah is leaving the world behind.”

Answer

Faqih Abul Layth Samarqandi (rahimahullah) has cited this as the statement of Imam Yahya ibn Mu’adh ar Razi (rahimahullah) (d. 258 A.H.).

Imam Yahya ibn Mu’adh ar Razi (rahimahullah) said: “Abandoning the [pleasures] of this world is difficult, but forfeiting Jannah is even more difficult. The dowry [to attain] Jannah is to forego the [pleasures] of this world.”
