Question

Can this Hadith be quoted?

«أنا وسفعاء الخدين في الجنة كهاتين، وأشار بإصبعيه الوسطى والسبابة، قالوا: يا رسول الله، وما سفعاء الخدين؟ قال: امرأة توفي زوجها فقعدت على عيالها».

Answer

Imam ‘Abdur Razzaq (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration (mursalan).

Qatadah (rahimahullah) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “I and a woman whose face has darkened will be in Jannah like these two fingers.” He indicated to the index and middle fingers. The Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) asked, “O Rasulullah, What do you mean the woman whose face has darkened?” He replied, “That woman whose husband passed away and she [took care] of her family.”

(Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 20591)

The narration is suitable to quote and is corroborated by a similar Hadith in Sunan Abi Dawud. See here
