كان يعلم الصبي الصلاة إذا اثغر

 

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of Ibrahim an-Nakha’i (rahimahullah).

Ibrahim an-Nakha’i (rahimahullah) said: “[The Sahabah radiyallahu ‘anhum] would teach a child how to perform Salah when their permanent teeth began to appear.”

(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah: 3505 and 3506)

This refers to around the age of six when a child’s milk teeth fall out and are replaced by their permanent teeth.

(٣٥٠٦) – حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش، عن مغيرة، عن إبراهيم، قال: كانوا يعلمون الصبيان الصلاة إذا اثغروا.

تعليق العلامة محمد عوامة -حفظه الله- على المصنف:
(٣٥٠٥) – «اثَّغَر»: يقال: اثَّغَر، واتَّغَر، وادغر الصبي: إذا نبتت أسنانه بعد أن سقطت رواضعه انظر «النهاية» ۱: ۲۱۳، «واللسان» مادة (ث غ ر). والأسنان الرواضع: هي الثنايا، وهي تسقط في سن السادسة.
