Question
Is there a Hadith stating that ‘Uthman ibn ‘Affan (radiyallahu ‘anhu) had a son with Ruqayyah (radiyallahu ‘anha), but he passed away during or after the Battle of Badr?

Yes, the historians and authors of sirah do mention that Sayyiduna ‘Uthman and Sayyidatuna Ruqayyah (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) did have a son by the name of ‘Abdullah while they were in Abyssinia.
It was Sayyidah Ruqayyah (radiyallahu ‘anha) who passed away in Madinah while Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was busy in the battle of Badr.
Her son, ‘Abdullah, passed away after her.
