Question

Is this Hadith authentic?
“Some people will be scorched by Hell as a punishment for sins they have committed and then Allah will admit them into Jannah by the grant of His Mercy. These people will be called, ‘Al-Jahannamiyyun.'”

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) recorded this narration in his Sahih. The narration is therefore authentic.

Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Some people will be burnt due to the punishment they received in the Fire. Allah will then grant them entry into Jannah through His Mercy. They will be called ‘The Jahannamiyyun.'”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 7450 and Hadith: 6559)
