Question

Kindly provide the reference and authenticity of the following narration:

Ibn Sirin (rahimahullah) has said: “I said to ‘Abidah (rahimahullah): ‘We have some of the hair of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) which we got from Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) or from his family.’

‘Abidah (rahimahullah) replied. “No doubt if I had a single strand of that [hair], it would have been dearer to me than the whole world and whatever is in it.”

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Ibn Sirin (rahimahullah). Therefore, it is authentic.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 170)
