Where is this Hadith reported?
“Your true brother is the one who makes you aware of your faults, and your true friend is the one who warns you against sins.”

Answer

I have not come across this as a Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

Imam Ibn Hamakan (rahimahullah) has cited this as the statement of Imam Yahya ibn Mu’adh (rahimahullah) (d. 258 A.H.).

Imam Yahya ibn Mu’adh ar Razi (rahimahullah) said: “Your true brother is the one who points out your faults, and your true friend is the one who cautions you against sins.”
