Is the following a Hadith and what is the grading?

“Be cautious regarding urine since the general punishment of the grave is due to urine”

Answer

Yes, this is a Hadith recorded in Sunan Daraqutni. Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) states that this Hadith is also in Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah. (I could not locate this Hadith in the current edition of Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, which is incomplete)

(Sunan Daraqutni, Hadith: 464 and Fathul Bari, before Hadith: 233)

Imam Ibn Majah, Imam Hakim and others have also recorded a similar narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The words of this narration is as follows:

“Most of the torment of the grave is [due to being careless with the droplets] of urine”

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 348 and Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 1, pg. 183. Declared authentic by Imam Hakim and ‘Allamah Dhahabi concurs)
