Question

There is a Hadith wherein the Messenger (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was reported to have mentioned three benefits of performing the two Sunnah at home and then attending the Masjid for the Fajr prayer.

Could you source the wording of the Hadith and its authenticity?

This Hadith appears in some “non-Hadith” books with the following words:

من صلى ركعتي الفجر في بيته يوسع له في رزقه ويقل المنازع بينه وبين أهله ويختم له بالإيمان

Whoever offers the two (Sunnah) of Fajr in his home will have his sustenance expanded, the quarrels with his family decreased and he will die with iman.

(Maraqil Falah, pg. 384-385)

I haven’t found this in a Hadith book. One should be cautious when a Hadith (like the one in question) is untraceable in any original Hadith source, until its authenticity can be verified.

Update: ‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) has declared this narration as a fabrication.

مراقي الفلاح:
(٣٨٤-٣٨٥) – وقوله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إذا أقيمت الصلاة فلا صلاة إلا المكتوبة» محمول على غير صلاة الفجر لما قدمناه في سنة الفجر والأفضل فعلهما في البيت. قال صلى الله عليه وسلم: «من صلى ركعتي الفجر» أي سنته «في بيته يوسع له في رزقه ويقل المنازع بينه وبين أهل بيته ويختم له بالإيمان» والأحب فعلهما أول طلوع الفجر وقيل بقرب الفريضة.

الأجوبة المرضية: (٣/ ٩١٦)
وعن حديث: «من صلى سنة الفجر في بيته يوسع له في رزقه وتقل المنازعة بينه وبين أهله ويختم له بالإيمان».
فقلت: إنه لا أصل له.
