Question

Is the following Hadith regarding treating one’s wife with love and affection authentic?

If you hold her hand with love, you will get five hasanat (good deeds), if you make mu’anaqah (embrace), you get ten hasanat etc.

Answer

This Hadith has been deemed as a fabrication or extremely unreliable by several Muhaddithun. Among them are Imams Daraqutni, Ibnul Jawzi & Hafiz Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalani (rahimahullah)
In fact, the narrator who made this up even confessed to his lies when he was confronted by the great Imam ‘Abdur Rahman ibn Mahdiy (rahimahullah).

One should abstain from quoting, sharing or publicising such Hadiths.
The warnings for quoting fabrications are extremely severe!
