Question
Is there any authentic narration about a Sahabi with very curly hair who burnt a line through the middle of his hair with a heated iron so that he could resemble the hairstyle of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)?
Answer
A similar incident is mentioned in some contemporary books. However, I have not come across it in any primary source or in the works of the earlier scholars.
The biographers of Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) have recorded a Sahabi named Ja’dah, a name referring to his curly hair. He was named Ja’dah by Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).
However, there are no additional details mentioned.

The incident in question should not be quoted until it can be sourced and then verified.
And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
