What is the authenticity of the following narration ?

هم المنافق بطنه وهم المؤمن فرسه

Answer

I have not come across this narration in any Hadith source nor have I come across the chain. I am therefore unable to verify the authenticity.

This narration appears in certain non-primary sources.

(Refer: Al Fawzul Kabir Fi Usulit Tafsir, pg. 38)

وأما النفاق الثاني – وهو النفاق العملي – فإنه كثير الوقوع لا سيما في عصرنا هذا، وإلى هذا النفاق وقعت الإشارة في الحديث الشريف، الذي جاء فيه: «ثلاث من كن فيه كان منافقا خالصا: إذا حدث كذب، وإذا وعد أخلف، وإذا خاصم فجر». و«هم المنافق بطنه وهم المؤمن فرسه» إلى غير ذلك من الأحاديث.
