Question

Kindly give me a reference and the authenticity of the following narration.

“Whoever makes love with a married woman, they will suffer the torture which is supposed to afflict half of this nation in grave. Afterwards, on the Day of Judgment, Allah will give her husband, who does not know (what she does), the right to dispose of her good deeds. But if he knows and does nothing, he and his wife will be deprived of Paradise as there is a statement on the door of Paradise which reads, unlawful for the cuckold.

Answer

I have not come across this narration in any primary Hadith source nor could I locate a chain of narrators.

This Hadith appears in some non-primary sources as well as the unreliable edition of Al Kabair attributed to ‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahullah).

(Refer: Az Zawajir ‘an Iqtirafil Kabair, vol. 2, pg. 225 and Al Kabair, pg. 42, Darul Ghadd al Jadid)

Zina is most certainly a major sin, the punishments for which are extremely severe.  However, the Hadith in question should not be quoted until it can be sourced and then verified.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
