Is it understood from any Hadith that Allah’s punishment is inevitable when Muslims curse each other frequently?
Answer
Yes, this is recorded in a Hadith in Shu’abul Iman and Al Mu’jamul Awsat. Muslims cursing each other has been mentioned along with other deeds.
Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “When my nation adopts five practices, their destruction is inevitable; When they curse each other openly, they wear silk, they take up musical [instruments], they drink wine, and men are satisfied with men and women are satisfied with women.”

(١٠٩٠) – حدثنا أحمد قال: حدثنا أبو جعفر النفيلي قال: نا عباد بن كثير الرملي قال: نا عروة بن رويم، عن أنس بن مالك قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إذا استحلت أمتي ستا فعليهم الدمار: إذا ظهر فيهم التلاعن، وشربوا الخمور، ولبسوا الحرير، واتخذوا القيان، واكتفى الرجال بالرجال، والنساء بالنساء».
لم يرو هذا الحديث عن عروة إلا عباد، تفرد به: النفيلي.
