A beautiful comprehensive Masnun du’a

Question

Can you provide the entire du’a?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would say, ‘wamkur li wa la tamkur ‘alayya’ [i.e. plot in favour of me by afflicting my enemy in ways that they do not even realise].

Answer

The complete narration and du’a as appears in Sunan Tirmidhi is as follows:

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would make the following du’a:

Rabbi a’inni wa la tu’in ‘alayya, wansurni wa la tansur ‘alayya, wamkur li, wa la tamkur ‘alayya, wahdini wa yassiril huda li, wansurni ‘ala mam bagha ‘alayya. Rabbij ‘alni laka shakkaran, laka dhakkaran, laka rahhaban, laka mitwa’an, laka mukhbitan, ilayka awwaham muniba. Rabbi taqabbal tawbati, waghsil hawbati, wa ajib da’wati, wa thabbit hujjati, wa saddid lisani, wahdi qalbi, waslul sakhimata sadri.

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3551 -Declared authentic by Imam Tirmidhi-, Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 1505, Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3830)

Explanatory translation:

O My Rabb! Assist me and do not assist [my enemies] against me, help me and do not help against me, plot in favour of me and not against me, guide me and make guidance easy for me, aid me against those who oppress me. O My Rabb! Make me ever grateful to You, ever remembering of You, ever fearful of You, extremely obedient to You, ever humble to You, very submissive and returning to You [in tawbah]. O My Rabb! Accept my tawbah, wipe off my sins, answer my supplication, make my proof firm [against Your enemies], guide my tongue [to speak the truth], guide my heart and remove the deception/treachery of my chest.
