Question

Is this Hadith authentic?

In Al-Firdaws of Daylami, there is a narration which states:

“A Nur (light) will begin shining in Jannah – and Jannah itself is so effulgent that the word Nur is too insignificant to describe it – due to which the whole of Jannah from bottom to top will begin shining. So a resident of Jannah will ask the angels: “What is this great light and where did it come from?” The angels of Jannah will respond,  “In the higher Jannah, ‘Ali and Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) were sitting and began smiling for some reason. Celestial light was emitted from their teeth which lit up the whole of Jannah”

Answer

I have not come across this narration in the cited source or any other authentic Hadith collection. A similar narration appears in Shi’i sources. The narration should not be quoted.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
