What is the reference for this narration?
لعن الله الكاذب ولو كان مازحا
Answer
I have not come across this narration in any primary or secondary Hadith source. These exact words should not be quoted as a Hadith.
The following narrations should be quoted instead:
1) Sayyiduna Mu’awiyah ibn Haydah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Woe to the one who speaks lies to make the people laugh. Woe to him! Woe to him!”
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2315 See here)
2) Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “A servant has not attained complete Iman until he refrains from lying [even] in jest and leaves out quarrelling even though he is correct.”
(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2, pg. 352-353, Hadith: 8630. See here)
3) Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “I stand guarantee for a house in the middle of Jannah for the person who avoids lying even if he were joking/in jest.”

سنن أبي داود:
(٤٧٦٧) ـ حدثنا محمد بن عثمان الدمشقي أبو الجماهر، حدثنا أبو كعب أيوب بن محمد السعدي، حدثني سليمان بن حبيب المحاربي، عن أبي أمامة قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: «أنا زعيم ببيت في ربض الجنة لمن ترك المراء وإن كان محقا، وببيت في وسط الجنة لمن ترك الكذب وإن كان مازحا، وببيت في أعلى الجنة لمن حسن خلقه».
