I heard about the following, is it authentic and what is the explanation?
Sayyiduna ‘Abdur Rahman ibn ‘Awf (radiyallahu ‘anhu) was asked; “What is the reason of your success? He replied, ‘Due to three things;
1) I never refused any profit
2) I sold everything in cash and not on credit
3) I did not delay in selling a thing.”
This narration is recorded in non primary sources. I have not come across the complete chain.
The words together with the explanatory translation are as follows:
Sayyiduna ‘Abdur Rahman ibn ‘Awf (radiyallahu ‘anhu) was asked, “What is the reason for your wealth? He replied, ‘Three things; I never refused any profit [no matter how small], I never delayed in supplying an animal when it was sought [as it incurs expenses each day I keep it] nor did I sell on credit.”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
