Is this authentic?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whoever reads the following du’a and passes it on, Allah will build a house for him in Jannah:

اللهم إني أسألك بأنك أنت الذي لا إله إلا انت الأحد الصمد الذي لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن له كفوا أحد، الرحمٰن الرحيم، الحي القيم، المنّان، بديع السماوات والأرض، ذو الجلال والإكرام أن ترزقنا الجنة من دون حساب.”

 

Answer

I have not come across this narration. This should not be quoted until it can be sourced and then verified.

The following narration should be quoted instead:

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that he was once seated with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) while a man was offering Salah. He then supplicated saying:

اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ المَنَّانُ بَدِيعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ، يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ، يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ، إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ

Transliteration: Allahumma inni as-aluka bi anna lakal hamd la ila ha illa anta al Mannan Badi’us samawati wal ard, ya dhal Jalali wal ikram ya Hayyu ya Qayyumu, inni As-aluk 

Translation: “O Allah! I beseech You by virtue of the fact that all praise belongs to You. There is no deity except You, the Most Generous Bestower, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of Majesty and Honour, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer. I beseech You.”

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked the Sahabah, “Do you know what he supplicated with?” They replied, “Allah and His Messenger Know best.” Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then said, “He has called upon Allah using His Great Name, when invoked by it, He responds, and when asked through it, He grants.”

(١٣٠٠) – أخبرنا قتيبة، قال: حدثنا خلف بن خليفة، عن حفص بن أخي أنس، عن أنس بن مالك، قال: كنت مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم جالسا ـ يعني ـ ورجل قائم يصلي، فلما ركع وسجد وتشهد دعا، فقال في دعائه: اللهم إني أسألك بأن لك الحمد لا إله إلا أنت المنان بديع السماوات والأرض، يا ذا الجلال والإكرام، يا حي يا قيوم، إني أسألك، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لأصحابه: «تدرون بما دعا؟» قالوا: الله ورسوله أعلم، قال: «والذي نفسي بيده، لقد دعا الله باسمه العظيم، الذي إذا دعي به أجاب، وإذا سئل به أعطى».
