Another Hadith on ‘Kawthar’; a river in Jannah


What is the authenticity of this Hadith?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘I saw a river in Jannah whose banks had tents which were made of pearl. I said: “What is this O Jibril?'” He said: “This is Al Kawthar which Allah has granted you.”



Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu). He has declared the Hadith authentic.

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded the Hadith with slight variation in the wording.
