What is the authenticity of this narration?

“Fast the hot days in anticipation of the Day of Qiyamah and offer two rak’ahs of Salah in the dark night in anticipation of the dark grave.”

-Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu)-

 

Answer

Hafiz Ibn Rajab Al Hambali (rahimahullah) has cited this as the statement of Sayyiduna Abud Darda (radiyallahu ‘anhu) without a chain of narrators.

A similar narration is recorded in Kitabuz Zuhd of Imam Ahmad and Shu’abul Iman, as the statement of Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
