Question

Is there any Hadith that advises us to check the sincerity of our intention before doing an action, while doing it, and to make tawbah afterwards if our intention was deficient in any way?

 

Answer

I haven’t seen this in the popular Hadith references.

This seems to be a prescription from some senior to assist one in correcting the intention. One who is particular at this in his/her intentions, will indeed achieve a desirable degree of sincerity, which is essential for the acceptance of any deed.
