Can you provide the correct wording and references for the following narration:

This narration is recorded in many Hadith sources on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) with slight variations in the wording. The wording in your question is recorded in Sunan Darimi as part of a longer narration.

Among these sources are the following:

  1. Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 4 pg. 333
  2. As Sunanul Kubra of Imam Nasai, Hadith: 6271
  3. Sunan Ad Darimi, Hadith: 227
  4. Musnad Abu Ya’la, Hadith: 5028
  5. Sunan Daraqutni, Hadith: 4103
  6. Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 1548

The wording of the complete Hadith as appears in Mustadrak Hakim is as follows:

Translation: Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Learn the [laws of] inheritance and teach it to people for I will pass away soon. Knowledge will soon be taken away so much so that two people will argue regarding inheritance but will be unable to find someone to pass a verdict for them.”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
