Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was once holding the hand of ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

Question

Is this authentic? The reference mentioned was Sahih Bukhari, but I could not locate it. Kindly provide the Arabic text as well.

‘Abdullah ibn Hisham narrated: “We were sitting in the company of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and he was holding hands with ‘Umar ibnul Khattab.

Answer

This narration is recorded in Sahih Bukhari (several times) and is therefore authentic.

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Hisham (radiyallahu ‘anhu) related: “We were with Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and he was holding the hand of ‘Umar ibnul Khattab (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3694, chapter on the virtues of ‘Umar ibnul Khattab, and Hadith: 6264, 6632)

Arabic text

كنا مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو آخذ بيد عمر بن الخطاب

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
