رب عمل صغير تكثره النية، ورب عمل كثير تصغره النية

 

Answer

‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahullah) has cited this as the statement of Imam ‘Abdullah ibnul Mubarak (rahimahullah) [Demise: 181 A.H.].

Imam ‘Abdullah ibnul Mubarak said: “With the right intention, a simple [effortless] act can achieve magnificence [yield immense rewards], whereas numerous actions devoid of [sincere intention] can lose their significance.”
