Question
Please provide the reference for the masnun Du’a:
“Allahumma la takilni ila nafsi tarfata ‘ayn”
Answer
Imams Hakim, Nasai and Bazzar (rahimahumullah) and others have recorded this narration.
Imam Hakim has declared the Hadith authentic (sahih). Hafiz Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has also declared the narration as authentic. Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has graded the Hadith as sound (hasan)

The full narration is as follows:
Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said to Sayyidatuna Fatimah (radiyallahu ‘anha), “What will stop you from practising my advice? You should recite the following every morning and evening:
يا حي يا قيوم برحمتك أستغيث ، أصلح لي شأني كله ، ولا تكلني إلى نفسي طرفة عين
“Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyumu bi rahmatika astaghith, aslih li sha-ni kullah wa la takilni ila nafsi tarfata ‘ayn”
Translation
O The Ever Living The Sustainer, I seek assistance through your mercy, rectify all of my affairs and don’t entrust me to myself even for a blink.
