Question
I have heard that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) had four Muadhins. Can you please mention their names
Answer
‘Allamah Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullah) states that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) had appointed four Muadhins. Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has also echoed similar sentiments.
1&2) Sayyiduna Bilal ibn Abi Rabah and Sayyiduna ibn Ummi Maktum (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) in Masjid Nabawi
3) Sayyiduna Sa’d Al Quraz (radiyallahu ‘anhu), the freed slave of ‘Ammar ibn Yasir (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) in Quba
4) Abu Mahdhurah Aws ibn Mughirah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) in Makkah Mukarramah
