Question

What is the reference for this Hadith?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “This world is an abode for whom there is no abode, a wealth for one who has no wealth and the one who has no intelligence gathers it.”

 

Answer

Imams Ahmad and Bayhaqi (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyidah ‘Aishah (radiyallahu ‘anha).

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 6, pg. 71, Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 10154)

Sayyidah ‘Aishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The world is an abode for whom [in reality] there is no abode, a wealth for one who has no wealth and the one who has no intelligence gathers it.”
