Question

I am looking for this Hadith and the Arabic wording:

“They liked for a man to be fair between his children, even in the kisses.”

 

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration as the statement of the Tabi’i; Ibrahim An Nakha’i (rahimahullah) who said:

“They [The Sahabah radiyallahu ‘anhum] liked to treat their children equally even when it came to kissing them.”

(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah: 31642)

Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (hafizahullah) has graded the chain authentic (sahih).

عن إبراهيم قال: كانوا يستحبون أن يعدل الرجل بين ولده حتى في القبل
