Question

What is the authenticity if this narration?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Allah Ta’ala does not accept the repentance of every innovator until he leaves out his innovation.”

 

Answer

Imam Tabarani, Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahumallah) and others have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

(Al Mu’jamul Awsat, Hadith: 4214 and Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 9011)

 

‘Allamah Mundhiri has declared the chain of narrators of Tabarani sound (hasan) and Hafiz Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators reliable.

(Targhib, vol. 1 pg. 86 and Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 10 pg. 189)
