What is the authenticity of the following?

Two sounds are cursed in this world as well as the Hereafter, using musical instruments [to express joy] at the time of a bounty and wailing at the time of calamity.

 

Answer

Imam Bazzar (rahimahullah) and others have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

‘Allamah Mundhiri and Hafiz Haythami (rahimahumallah) have declared the narrators reliable.
