A narration stating that du’as are accepted by the Mizab of the Ka’bah

Question

What is the status of this narration?

قد روي عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال: ما أحد يدعو عند الميزاب إلا استجيب له

It has been reported that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: Whoever supplicates at the Mizab [The water spout/gutter of the Ka’bah], his du’a will be accepted.

Answer

I have not come across this as a Hadith of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) in any primary Hadith source. Certain Fuqaha (Jurists) have cited this narration as a Hadith of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).

Imam Azraqi (rahimahullah) has recorded the following narration, with two chains as the statement of the famous Tabi’i; ‘Ata ibn Abi Rabah (rahimahullah) and not as a Hadith of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam):

‘Ata ibn Abi Rabah (rahimahullah) said: “Whoever stands by the drain of the Ka’bah and makes du’a, his du’a will be answered and he returns [free of sins] like the day his mother gave birth to him.”
