Question

Can you tell me the authenticity of this narration?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Anyone who visits one of his parent’s grave or both parent’s graves with intention of rewards, gets the reward of one accepted Hajj and whoever visits their grave frequently, the angels will come to visit his grave [when he passes away].” Kanzul ‘Ummal, Hadith: 45544

Answer

This Hadith is recorded in Nawadirul Usul on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma).

(Nawadirul Usul, Hadith: 99)

However, the chain consists of two extremely weak narrators who have also been declared fabricators according to some Muhaddithun.

(Lisanul Mizan, vol. 4 pg. 296, number: 3882 and vol. 3 pg. 225, number: 2644)

The Muhaddithun have declared another similar narration a fabrication, whose chain also consists of one of the above referred to narrators. See here.

The Hadith in question is therefore not suitable to quote.

Nevertheless, visiting the graves of one’s parents is indeed rewarding and recommended.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
